Research Interests
My substantive research interests lie in exploring the psychological factors that are implicated in the development and maintenance of addictive, compulsive, and high-risk behaviors (e.g. eating disorders, substance use, gambling, excessive exercise). My current research focuses on the application of readiness and motivation models to the assessment and treatment of substance abuse and eating disorders. Apart from my primary focus, I am also interested in issues related to the initiation and continuation of exercise and its impact on mental and physical health in obese, elderly, and mood-disordered populations.
