Nicole Vittoz, PhD
Former IMPART Coordinator


Dr. Vittoz is a researcher and educator with long-standing interest in the area of drug addiction and mental illness. She completed her B.Sc. at the University of Michigan and her Fulbright year in Germany, studying the neural substrates of drug addiction, Parkinson's Disease and psychosis. In her graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Vittoz contributed to the current understanding of the novel neuropeptide hypocretin/orexin. As a postdoctoral fellow at UBC, she has been researching how neurons in the prefrontal cortex work together to perform various cognitive functions. Dr. Vittoz is currently teaching in the Psychology department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
