Nicole Vittoz, PhD
IMPART Program Coordinator
Dr. Vittoz is a researcher and educator with long-standing interest in the area of drug addiction and mental illness. She completed her B.Sc. at the University of Michigan and her Fulbright year in Germany, studying the neural substrates of drug addiction, Parkinson's Disease and psychosis. In her graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Vittoz contributed to the current understanding of the novel neuropeptide hypocretin/orexin. As a postdoctoral fellow at UBC, she has been researching how neurons in the prefrontal cortex work together to perform various cognitive functions. Currently teaching in the Psychology departments at Kwantlen and UBC, Dr. Vittoz is excited to use her experience as a researcher, teacher and mentor to help the IMPART program maintain and build on its great success!
